Study sites of the Ugandan field data. The numbers of patient blood samples analysed from each site were 358 (Kanungu), 354 (Mubende), 333 (Jinja), 334 (Tororo), and 359 (Apac). The blood samples were collected between December 2002 and May 2004 (see [31] for more details). The mean MOI reported for each site was 2.64 (Kanungu), 3.01 (Mubende), 2.62 (Jinja), 4.46 (Tororo) and 4.16 (Apac).
