Overall group scores for PbAus-infected C57BL/6 mice treated with artesunate (A) or artemisone (B), twice a day on days 7-9 post-inoculation. Significant differences were seen between the control group and mice treated with 2 × 5 mg/kg/d artesunate (p < 0.05) or artemisone (both doses; p < 0.001). The effects of 2 × 2.5 mg/kg/d artesunate or artemisone were similar, but artemisone was significantly more effective than artesunate, at the higher dose (p < 0.001).
