Parasites were labelled with Hoechst and fluorescence of i-RBCCFDA-SE quantified by FACS. Y axis represents % of i-RBCCFDA-SE with respect to total number of RBC. Error bars represent SEM for three replicates. Established conditions allow detection of initial parasitaemia as low as 0.002 %
