Parasitaemia in mice infected with PvCSP/Pb transgenic parasites after receiving infectious mosquito bites. Each mouse (five mice/group) was bitten by three to seven mosquitoes infected with PvCSP(VK210)/Pb or PvCSP(VK247)/Pb. Giemsa-stained thin smears of mouse tail blood were prepared on day 5 and 7 after the mice had received the mosquito bites. Data are the means (± SEM) of the results. The percentages on the top of the panels indicate the infectivity rates. Statistical significance was determined by the Mann–Whitney test (percentage parasitaemia) and Fisher’s exact probability test (infectivity rates)
