The distribution of Rh5 high frequency haplotypes, YH and HD, in all three malaria infections. The uncomplicated malaria infections from 2007 to 2008 showed a significant shift in haplotype frequency from HD to YH in 2008 (p = 0.00011). However, in the asymptomatic malaria infections between 2008 and 2009, YH was the dominant haplotype in both years and YH was also dominant in the complicated malaria infections from 2007 to 2009
