Pathway 32 Animal health: Potentially decreased mosquito defence response to pathogen in dsxFCRISPRh transgenics from altered levels of endogenous RNA, protein or microbiome could lead to increased disease in livestock. Mosquito RNA or protein in saliva, midgut or haemolymph, or contents of the microbiome, can alter defence responses to human pathogens such as Plasmodium or ONNV [112,113,114,115,116].
