  1. Estimation represents regression coefficients which can be positive or negative. Regression coefficients measure the increase (positive value) or decrease (negative value) of the dependent variable (level of sHLA-G in cord blood at birth) due to the presence of independent ones. Covariates included in linear multivariate regression were sHLA-G quantification in maternal blood, low birth weight and placental infection. Information concerning the three covariates was available for 152 infants. Covariates with significant p values were presented in the Table 3.
