This graph is used to determine the number of infected RBCs with live parasites inside (membrane potential positive). An infected RBC will have a larger membrane potential and amount of DNA than an uninfected RBC shown in the left panels. The right hand panels shown the number of Rings (R), Trophozoites (T) and Schizonts (S) observed with 10 Hz (bottom panels) and without any (top panels) rotating magnetic fields. The uninfected cells are shown in the right-hand panels for reference
